Why won;t you talk to me or tell me who my birth father is?
I was put up for adoption at about 6 months of age. I am not sure if I was taken by DYFUS or other.
At age 27 my parents finally told us the truth. I was not surprised as the first picture they have of me was me sitting up holding a stuffed elephant.
So, after getting married and having my own kids I decided to do a search for health reasons and out of curiosity. So I went to the place everyone goes for information. Internet.
I found a wonderful group of people called ” Search Angels”. They located my birth mother through Classmates.com. What to her surprise.
So, I wrote her a letter and she said she was my birth mother. But, she did not want anything to do with me.
I wrote her again and she told me if I contacted her again she would call the police or get a lawyer involved. I asked her who my birth father was. She gave me a bogus name and last name only.
Ok, I will take this into my own hands. I went on Ancestry and did a DNA test. I also requested my original birth certificate from the state of New Jersey.
Ancestry found some close cousins and some distant cousins. I started writing them. I even went on Facebook to find information.
I forgot to mention I have 2 half brothers by my birth mother. She raised both of them. I was the middle child. Seems weird.
Anyway, I contacted one of my 1/2 brothers. To no avail. He did not respond to my letter via USPS.
I also found him on Facebook. He did not respond to that either. None of the cousins have responded either on Ancestry.
So, now my birth certificate comes. I am thrilled until I open the envelope and pull out the birth certificate. To begin with, my last name is not what hers was when I was born. It lists me as Williams. Also, her name is blacked out and there is no information on my father except his last name which is blacked out.
This is really nice. How dare you keep my health information from me. This is really ticking me off. All I want is medical information and my birth fathers name. I am not asking for a kidney or a lung. I am asking for information that all of us who were adopted should be privy too.
So now I am back to square one. I need another course of action here.
Wish me and everyone else in the same predicament all the luck. We need it.
